“both quietly satirical and very entertaining”

SYNOPSIS:

A tale of espionage, experiments, exotic locations and eggs. A mystery thriller about genetic engineering, reproduction and domestic science. The heroines are helped by a plant in this round the world tale. With stick puppets and also songs including, “Whoops! You’ve got a baby!”

In 1986 we hooked up with an independent Sheffield based film maker called Noé Mendelle who was making a documentary about genetic engineering, which was a hot topic at the time. So we decided to make a comedy in which the ingredients for human life are whisked up in a mixing bowl. This show featured the song “Whoops! You’ve got a baby!” It has to be said it wasn’t the best thing we’ve ever written, but it did tour extensively, including a Highlands and Islands tour. At the wonderful Lyth Arts Centre near Wick, founded by legendary Scottish promoter Willie Wilson, we did a sell out show followed by an outdoor performance by the Northern lights! A night to remember.
